Win Streak Now at 6 for Hawks

The Laredo Hawks got a strong performance from pitcher Ed Alexander, who stymied the Mt. Vernon offense en route to a 4-2 win at Hawks Field. In 5.2 innings, Alexander surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Will Snell picked up the save, his 2nd.
In the bottom of the third, Sergio San Martín hit a 2-run single for Laredo. The 38th hit of the season for the Laredo shortstop put the Hawks on top, 2-0.
"I believe in our guys," said Laredo skipper Bill Callahan. "I like the energy they're playing with."
Mt. Vernon has now lost 4 consecutive games.
