The Laredo Hawks stopped the Eugene Vandals, 9-4, at The Riot Zone. The Hawks got a big game from Sal Elliott, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Quan Yang got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 0. Laredo is now 13-12.
Laredo relied on the hitting of Jesús Gómez to pick up the win. The first baseman ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to put the Hawks on top, 2-0. For the game, Gómez had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
