Jets Fall Short, 3-2, at Grand Forks
|
The Grand Forks Caterpillars topped the Kennesaw Jets, 3-2, with third baseman Qi-chao Di playing a big role. Di went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI for the Caterpillars in the win. Juan Ayala nailed down his 1st save. Grand Forks is now 8-13.
With Grand Forks leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Di came up to bat against Kennesaw pitcher Al Gagne. Di hit a slider to left for a run-scoring single. His 20th hit of the season put the Caterpillars on top, 3-1.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Di told the Grand Forks Citizen. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
