Sonics Walk Off with 4-3 Win
|
The Sonics Ballpark faithful were treated to a dramatic, walk-off win.
The Atlantic City Sonics took Mercer Island pitcher Raimo Kangas's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Sonics Ballpark. The final score had Atlantic City getting past the Screaming Eagles, 4-3. Kangas went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 4. José González picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Miguel Rodríguez was tagged with the loss.
Atlantic City took a 4-3 lead on Zacarías Salazar's 49th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Salazar hit in the bottom of the tenth, left Mercer Island pitcher Wilson Rangel shaking his head.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Salazar said in his postgame press conference.
Atlantic City is now riding a 3-game win streak.
