Late Rally by Shooters Secures Win
|
The Springfield Shooters stopped the Northville Eclipse, 6-4, at Old-Timers Park. The Shooters got a big game from Ricardo Torres, who went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Northville has now lost 7 straight.
Springfield used the timely hitting of Ramón Barbosa to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shooters on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Torres, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
