The Las Vegas Flamingos and Charleston Battery lit up the scoreboard at Charleston Armory.

Spencer Powell had a good game, but he could not keep the Charleston Battery from falling, 12-8, to the Las Vegas Flamingos at Charleston Armory. The Charleston designated hitter was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once in the loss. Kagetoki Matsubara, credited with the win, is now 6-3. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 5.1 innings.

The result might have been different for Las Vegas, had it not been for Ruud van Ineveld. The center fielder produced a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 3-0. For the game, van Ineveld had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll enjoy this win," said van Ineveld. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

Las Vegas is now 45-54. Charleston is 57-42.
