Streaking Screaming Eagles Win Another One
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles knocked off the Springfield Shooters, 8-7, at Mercer Island Grounds. Eisse van Opdorp, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Mercer Island won. The third baseman was 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Mercer Island reliever Mario López got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Gilberto Chávez was tagged with the loss. The second-place Screaming Eagles have won 8 in a row.

Omer Yurtseven had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Screaming Eagles. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Mercer Island trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single.
