Tacoma and San Bernardino met at Field of the Grasshoppers in front of a lively crowd.

The Tacoma Fur Traders beat the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 8-4, at Field of the Grasshoppers. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Martín Chávez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1 for 4 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Phillip Donoghue closed the door for Tacoma, picking up his 1st save of the year.

It could have been a different outcome for Tacoma, had it not been for Alejandro Aquilera, the 26-year old center fielder . Aquilera contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Tacoma up, 6-4.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Tacoma skipper George Sanford.

San Bernardino, at 13-12, has lost 4 straight.
