Mercer Island starter Chris Crum kept the Casper offense in check, while his team cruised to a 11-1 win. Crum, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Victor Lustig finished the game for Mercer Island and earned his 1st save.
The Screaming Eagles grabbed the lead in the bottom of the first. With one out, Joe James hit a 3-run home run off Enrique Cruz, putting Mercer Island in front, 4-0. For James, it was his 1st home run of the season.
"I had everything working," said Crum.
With the win, Mercer Island elevates its record to 7-7.
