Big Day by Koo Sparks Loons Win
The Minnesota Loons stymied the Tacoma Fur Traders, 7-0, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Kao-tsu Koo, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Minnesota. Martyn Drdio picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-0. Picking up the save was Ids Knegt, his 2nd.

Koo came through with some timely hitting for Minnesota. With the score 2-0 in the top of the third and two down, Koo hit a 1-0 changeup for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 4-0, Minnesota.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Koo, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

The win brings the Loons to 3-7, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
