Longnecks Topple Lynx with Late Rally

Lookouts Ballpark was sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Calgary Lynx, 5-4, in USPL Triple A action at Lookouts Ballpark, with Bloomington pinch hitter Mark Armstead named player of the game. Bloomington reliever Steve Wortley picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Ricardo Covarrubias absorbed the loss.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Bloomington trailing 4-2, Armstead hit a cutter from Ricardo Covarrubias for a 3-run home run, giving the Longnecks the walk-off win.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Calgary manager Thomas Kemp. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
The Longnecks improve their record to 42-60 with the win over Calgary.
