Weston Doyle left his imprint on the 7-2 New Orleans win against the Philadelphia 1776 BC. Doyle went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. New Orleans reliever Grover Lowdermilk picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-4. Apollo Cepeda was collared with the loss. The third-place Voodoo have won 9 in a row.

Had Lupo Cotto not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Cotto hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Voodoo.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
