Golden Cranes Come Back Late to Top Disaster
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes had to overcome a big game from Port Royal first baseman Michael Brannon to leave Crane Field with a 4-3 victory. Brannon was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. The save went to Ieyoshi Asai, his 3rd this season. Santa Barbara, at 44-53, sits in 6th place in the Premier AAA.
Had Rocky Zolman not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Zolman hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Golden Cranes.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Zolman told the Santa Barbara Today.
