Loss Extends Portland Losing Streak
|
Portland shortstop Moriz Ayushiev had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to Las Vegas at The Strip. Ayushiev went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Sy-ing Tah, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 6-10. Isaaka Ienimea earned the save for Las Vegas, his 4th of the year.
In the bottom of the fourth, Las Vegas catcher Sun-jae Kwak had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and one out, Kwak stroked a 2-run home run to left-center. It made the score 4-2, Las Vegas. For the game, he went 1-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Kwak said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The losses continue to mount for Portland, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
