The inspired effort of Brinkley shortstop Cisco Feijoo was not enough to prevent a 7-6 loss to the Port Royal Disaster. Feijoo went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The winner was Jerry Kumpf, who threw 100 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 7 hits. Marcos Oquendo finished the game for Port Royal and earned his 19th save.

The result might have been different for Port Royal, had it not been for Richard Cutshall, the former first round draft pick . Cutshall stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Port Royal up, 7-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cutshall said after the game.

The Disaster bumped their record to 52-42 with this latest triumph.
