Belugas Come Back Late to Top Men
|
The Brinkley Belugas picked up a win at Belugas Ballpark, knocking off the Florida Men, 4-3. Starting pitcher Gary Wilson was an essential part of his team's success. Brinkley reliever Ewan Atwood picked up the win to move to 4-2. Manny Benavides suffered the loss. Brinkley now sits at 59-34, while Florida falls to 27-66.
Riley Rowbery was the walk-off hero for Brinkley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Belugas right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Florida manager Brian Fowler said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
