Bloomington pitcher John Walton did his part in helping his team beat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Walton went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-4. The save was credited to Ricardo Pérez, his 1st.
Bloomington used the timely hitting of Daniel Carr to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Longnecks ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Carr.
Bloomington goes to 37-52, Santa Barbara to 39-50.
