Belugas Come Up Short at Bakersfield
|
Bakersfield beat Brinkley at Jerome Grounds, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Alberto López, who earned player of the game honors. The winning streak has now reached 7 games for Bakersfield.
In the bottom of the fifth, Bakersfield designated hitter Terry John had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, John stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-2, Bakersfield. For the game, he was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Brinkley skipper Ricardo Medina, "and it cost us."
