Patriots Come Up Short at D.C.
|
The D.C. Divided bested the Boston Patriots by a score of 8-7, with shortstop Júlio Rodríguez getting the main credit. On the day, Rodríguez went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Divided. The save went to Baker Mayfield, his 3rd this season. D.C., now 30-59, holds last place in the Premier League.
The Divided grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With two out, Gustavo González hit a 2-run home run off Kelemeneke Balun, putting D.C. in front, 3-0. For González, it was his 2nd home run of the season.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said D.C. skipper Jonathan Gerth.
