A 3-RBI performance from first baseman Manny Diéguez led the Bloomington Longnecks to a 7-3 win over the Calgary Lynx. Marcos Germán earned the win to go to 3-5. He allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Longnecks saw their record improve to 34-42.
Bloomington needed the clutch hitting of Fook Zhào to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Longnecks on top, 4-1. For the game, Zhào had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Diéguez told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
