6-3 Disaster Win over Belugas Evens Season Record
|
The Port Royal Disaster defeated the Brinkley Belugas, 6-3, in USPL Triple A action at Ballpark of Port Royal, with Port Royal pitcher Jerry Kumpf named player of the game. Kumpf picked up the win for Port Royal, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 7-5. Marcos Oquendo, credited with the save, is now 12 for 12 in save opportunities.
In the bottom of the third, Ryan Faulkner hit a 2-run triple for Port Royal. The 2nd triple of the season for the Port Royal third baseman put the Disaster on top, 2-1.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Kumpf, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Disaster go to 37-37, putting them 5th in the Premier AAA.
