Longnecks Drop Nobles with Late Score
|
Jerome Grounds was the site of a competitive game between the Bakersfield Nobles and Bloomington Longnecks.
The Bloomington Longnecks eked out a 3-2 win versus the Bakersfield Nobles at Jerome Grounds. Nobody did more than shortstop Yu-shu Tseng, who captured player of the game honors. Bloomington reliever Mark Zaugg was the winner. His record is now 1-1. José Guillén took the loss. Dennis Bly got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Tseng had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 fastball from José Guillén, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Longnecks a 3-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Tseng.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Tseng told the Bloomington Daily News.
Their 27-37 record puts the Longnecks 8th in the Premier AAA.
