Longnecks Rally For Late Win Over ParksNRec

The Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Pawnee ParksNRec, 5-3, in USPL Triple A action at Whips Ballpark, with Bloomington pitcher John Walton named player of the game. Bloomington reliever Asher Spivey was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Luis Cuero. The Longnecks' win now puts them at 26-37.
Bloomington used the clutch hitting of Sébastien Bernard to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Longnecks the lead, 5-3. For the game, Bernard had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Pawnee manager Arturo Chávez. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
