Golden Cranes Get One-Run Win at Port Royal
Port Royal left fielder Richard Cutshall had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Cutshall was 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs, even as Santa Barbara beat the Disaster, 6-5. Cutshall was named the player of the game despite the loss. Nam-shik Kwak got credit for the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 5 runs on 10 hits in 6 innings. The 9th-place Golden Cranes have won 4 straight games.

Santa Barbara used the timely hitting of Wilton Maynard to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Golden Cranes ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Port Royal manager Theo Graves. "But we decided not to take it."
