The Vancouver Grey Wolves picked up a win at The Strip, knocking off the Las Vegas Flamingos, 5-3. Starting pitcher Andrew Moody played a key role in the triumph. Moody, now 9-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Yeon-kyu Kim recorded his 13th save for Vancouver.

Vancouver catcher Mario Castillo laid a blow when he belted a solo home run in the top of the second. It was his 11th home run of the season. With it, the Grey Wolves took a 1-0 lead.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Moody.

Vancouver is now 47-40, Las Vegas 37-50.
