Behind a solid performance from catcher Nestor Tantoco, the Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Scranton Supernovas, 6-3. Tantoco was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times for the Longnecks. With the win, the Longnecks have a record of 21-34.
The Longnecks got a big at-bat from first baseman Manny Diéguez. For the game, Diéguez went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Bloomington a 4-1 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Diéguez told a Bloomington Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
