Chiang Slugs Divided to 10-8 Win
|
With designated hitter Yao-pang Chiang leading the charge, the D.C. Divided defeated the Portland Evergreens, 10-8, at Evergreen Park. Chiang, who is tied for 8th in the PL with a .534 slugging percentage, was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. D.C. reliever Baker Mayfield was credited with the win, to go to 2-3. Raúl Romero took the loss for Portland. Roberto Silva nailed down his 9th save.
D.C. took a 9-8 lead on Chiang's 17th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Raúl Romero in the top of the eighth, propelled D.C. to the win.
"Glad to get this win," said Chiang. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
The last-place Divided lifted their record to 28-58.
