Lynx Score Late to Upend Golden Cranes, 9-8
|
Santa Barbara got a terrific performance from shortstop Rocky Zolman, but it wasn't enough to beat the Calgary Lynx. Calgary won the Lynx Stadium contest, 9-8. Zolman was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs. Calgary reliever Lorenzo Díaz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ramón Molina absorbed the loss. The first-place Lynx have a one-game lead in their division.
Daniel García was the walk-off hero for Calgary. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lynx right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," García said.
