Longnecks Stymie Calgary, Take 4-1 Win
|
Bloomington got a strong outing from Armando González as the Longnecks defeated the Calgary Lynx, 4-1, at Lookouts Ballpark. Bloomington reliever Branlyn Jaraba picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. António Marés was saddled with the loss. After today's action, Bloomington sits at 10-20, while Calgary falls to 23-7.
Had Mark Armstead not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Armstead hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Longnecks.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," González said after the game.
