Golden Cranes Bang Out 8-1 Win Versus Bloomington
|
Spirited fans at Lookouts Ballpark greeted the Bloomington Longnecks for their clash with the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes.
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes got a strong performance from pitcher Robinson Suárez, who stymied the Bloomington offense en route to a 8-1 win at Lookouts Ballpark. Suárez picked up the win for Santa Barbara, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2.
The Golden Cranes got a big at-bat from designated hitter James Pike. For the game, Pike went 2-5 with 2 singles. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 12th hit of the season gave Santa Barbara a 2-1 lead.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Santa Barbara manager Pedro Gonzáles.
The Longnecks fall to 7-12 and continue to sputter in the early going.
