Chukars Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars knocked off the Columbia River Rats, 10-2, at Columbia Stadium. Jung-heum Ho, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Idaho Falls won. The shortstop was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Fei-hsien Cuan earned the win for Idaho Falls. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Jim Perry earned the save for Idaho Falls, his 1st of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for Idaho Falls, had it not been for Jing-quo Sung, the 23-year old right fielder . Sung contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to put Idaho Falls up, 1-0.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Columbia manager Kyle Besley. "We got flat-out beat."
With the loss, Columbia sinks to 6-4.
