Jets Lose to Hotspur U-21 in Walk Off
|
The Kennesaw Jets got a superb performance from pitcher Joshua Neal. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Phoenix. The Hotspur U-21 won the game, 1-0. In spite of the loss, Neal was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. Phoenix reliever César Vela was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Willis Pittman took the loss. The win moves Phoenix to a record of 1-1.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Tim Gray came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Kennesaw pitcher Willis Pittman, he hit a 2-1 sinker for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Phoenix on top, 1-0.
"Exhilarating win," said Gray.
