Polar Bears Fall to Youth, 7-3
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Youth grabbed a 7-3 win over the Billings Polar Bears at The Igloo. Phoenix Hotspur first baseman Hal Larson was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 to earn player of the game honors. Phoenix Hotspur reliever Wei-qian Chieu picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Roger Bickett took the loss. The win puts the Youth at 39-52, while the Polar Bears drop to 44-47.
Paco González made it 4-3 in favor of Phoenix Hotspur when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the ninth. The Youth went on to win.
González attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
