The Virginia Beach Whales picked up a win at Virginia Beach Grounds, knocking off the Richland Rails, 4-2. Starting pitcher Kenneth Ferrell played a key role in the triumph. Kenny Hannah earned the save, his 4th, for the Whales. Richland's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Scott French aided the Virginia Beach cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
