Nationals Win in Extras
|
Ottawa and Virginia Beach duked it out at Nationals Park and the Nationals came out victorious.
Ottawa Nationals starter Dustin van Aaken turned in a sterling performance against the Virginia Beach Whales, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. David Blake, credited with the win, is now 3-2. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings.
Ottawa took a 3-2 lead on Mei-shio Lan's 20th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Lan hit in the bottom of the 11th, left Virginia Beach pitcher Kenny Hunt visibly frustrated.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Virginia Beach skipper Bernie Drake.
Ottawa occupies 10th place in the Menard's AA at 32-44.
