Polar Bears Win at San Antonio, 3-2
|
The Polar Bears grabbed a win, 3-2, at San Antonio Field, overcoming a fine effort from San Antonio pitcher Ramón Galván. Galván went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The winner was Chris Gilroy in relief. His record improves to 7-1. Ramón Galván took the loss. Billings is 8th in the Menard's AA with a record of 22-28.
Billings used the timely hitting of Doug Becker to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Polar Bears ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
Becker told a Billings Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
