Nationals Squelch Atoms Offense in Shutout Win
|
Ottawa left-hander Luis Soto made an effective start against the Bethesda Atoms at Nationals Park, leading his team to a 3-0 win. The winning pitcher was Soto, now 3-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Ottawa is now 21-29, while Bethesda is 39-11.
Early in the game, first baseman Rey McSriff had a 3-run home run for Ottawa. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Nationals on top, 3-0.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Ottawa manager Fernando Gonzáles.
