Polar Bears Turn Back Virginia Beach, 5-3
|
The Virginia Beach Whales got a superb performance from pitcher Kenneth Ferrell. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Billings. The Polar Bears won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Ferrell was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Pedro 聲gel in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Kenneth Ferrell took the loss. With the win over Virginia Beach, the Polar Bears improved to 21-25.
Billings used the timely hitting of Hai-liang Yi to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Yi told the Billings Citizen.
