Atoms Turn Back Durham, 8-7
|
Durham got a terrific game from left fielder Bearooz Yacoobi. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Bethesda, 8-7. Yacoobi was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Suhaila Zainuddin picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Valentyn Hochmiller was tagged with the loss. This win makes it 6 in a row for Bethesda.
Michael Cochran, who is tied for 7th in the 3AA with a .316 batting average, contributed to the Bethesda win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cochran said after the game.
