The San Antonio BC got a superb performance from pitcher Patrick Ibáñez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Virginia Beach. The Whales won the game, 6-3. In spite of the loss, Ibáñez was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. Virginia Beach is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Had Tom Bell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Whales.
