|
The Boston Patriots got a good effort from starter Firpo Marberry in defeating the Buckhead Bowties at 5 Paces Park. The final score was 4-2. Marberry got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Marberry allowed 2 earned runs. José Sánchez earned the save, his 1st.
The Patriots benefited from a costly error in the top of the sixth. With Roland Deschain at bat and Boston leading 3-2, the Buckhead miscue allowed Boston to plate 1 and take the lead, 4-2.
In postgame comments to the Boston Citizen, Marberry said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Boston improves to 50-23 with the win. They lead their division by 8 games.
