The Billings Polar Bears got a strong performance from pitcher Arturo Santiago, who stymied the Ottawa offense en route to a 3-1 win at The Igloo. With the loss, Ottawa is 9-11.

Had Diederick Wellenberg not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Wellenberg hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Polar Bears.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Billings manager Enrique Marroquín. "It's usually not just one thing."
