|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Jeff Lowe, the Asheville Highlanders defeated the San Antonio BC, 8-2. Lowe was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Highlanders. José Marín closed the game out for Asheville, earning his 1st save. The loss lowers the San Antonio record to 6-7.
Lowe had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Zak Martin, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Highlanders a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Lowe.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Lowe said. "We did a good job of that today."
