Grey Wolves Score Late to Upend Patriots, 4-3
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves faced a tough opponent in Boston pitcher Darby Marshall, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Dunkin Donuts Park by a final score of 4-3. Marshall went 5 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The Grey Wolves bumped their record to 38-32 with this latest triumph.
Vancouver used the bat of Ray Skipworth to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Grey Wolves ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Skipworth said after the game.
