Battery Come Back Late to Clip Voodoo

Spencer Powell knocked in 3 runs to help Charleston beat New Orleans, 5-4. The designated hitter collected 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. Charleston reliever Hiroaki Kouda picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Mark Valle shouldered the loss. With the win, the Battery have a record of 39-31.
Powell had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 slider from Mark Valle, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Battery a 5-4 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Powell.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims. "But we decided not to take it."
