Rincón Hits 2 home runs in Ogres Win
|
The Olympia Ogres beat the San Antonio BC, 6-2, at San Antonio Field. Olympia designated hitter Tony Rincón earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. José Alfaro, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 6 innings. Losses have been few and far between for the BC so far this season. Their record drops to 5-2.
Rincón contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Olympia in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Rincón took a fastball from José Lucero and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Ogres to leap in front, 2-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Rincón.
