Hotspur Jolt Shredders with Late Rally
|
Chase Field was sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
Phoenix withstood an impressive performance by Hollywood shortstop José Torres to defeat the Shredders, 8-7, at Chase Field. Torres was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Phoenix reliever Jorge Cruzan picked up the win, upping his record to 7-2. An Jang-Yop was saddled with the loss.
Myles Brundidge was the walk-off hero for Phoenix. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hotspur third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"What we get, we earn," Brundidge told the Phoenix Herald.
The second-place Hotspur now have a 4-game winning streak.
