Lakers Drop Knights with Late Score
|
Echo Park starter Luis Díaz pitched effectively against the Kingston Township Knights at LA Forum. The left-hander led his team to a 6-4 win. Echo Park reliever Corbin Holling was credited with the win, to go to 4-4. Anthony Ledesma took the loss for Kingston Township. The Knights, now 38-63, have lost 5 straight.
The Lakers were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Angeddy Almanzar turned a 2-0 fastball from Anthony Ledesma into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Echo Park a thrilling 6-4 win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Díaz told the Echo Park Gazette.
