Pandas Clip Hotspur in Tight Contest
The Phoenix Hotspur got a superb performance from second baseman Jonas van Claveren. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Montana. The Pandas won the game, 8-7. In spite of the loss, van Claveren was named the player of the game. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Montana reliever Jim Sison picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Roger Taylor took the loss. Montana bumps their record to 36-64 with the win.

Lane McCool was the walk-off hero for Montana. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pandas first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said McCool.
