Bowties Stumble, Lose to Evergreens
|
Portland Evergreens starter Jorge Otero pitched a strong game against the Buckhead Bowties at Evergreen Park, leading the Evergreens to a 8-0 win. Otero, now 9-4, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. Charlie Fairthorne, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Jeff Solís came through for Portland with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The second baseman went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 3 RBI.
"Enjoyed this one," Otero told the Portland Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
At 37-30, Portland is in second place in the Premier League.
